Badrinath

Summary : Cradled in the twin mountain ranges
of Nar and Narayan is the holiest of four main
shrines Badrinath , along the left bank river
Alaknanda.Famous Hindu Pilgrimage center known as
Badrinath Dham.

Neelkanth peak :- A pyramidical - shaped snowy
peak towering above Badrinath , popularly known as
the " Garhwal Queen ".
Charanpaduka :- The foot prints of lord Vishnu can
be seen on a boulder in this beautiful meadow.
Brahma Kapal:: A flat platform on the bank
of the river Alalknanda .Hindus perform
propitiating rites for their deceased ancestors.
Mana:: the last village of india is
situated 3 kms . beyond Badrinath and is a great
place of tourist interest.
Vyas Gupha ( Cave):: A rock- cave near Mana
, where Ved Vyas composed the Mahabharata and
Purani commentaries.
Bhimpul:: A natural rock bridge of a huge
slab of stones over Saraswati river presenting a
spectaculars view of water thundering down the
narrow passage under the rock ; believed to have
been placed there by Bhim, the second Pandava.
Vashudhara Falls:: Waterfalls have
alwayscaptivated the human imagination, 5 km from
Mana village .towards the west is the Vashudhara
Falls with a sheer drop of 145 m., set in a
background of Snowy peaks , glaciers and rocky
heights. Violent wind sometimes sprays out the
entire volume of the water falling and it appears
that the waterfalls ceases for a minute or two,
giving rise to a lot of superstitious ideas to the
locals.
Bhavishya Badri::
The Badri of the Future

Summary : Literally, the Badrinath of the
future, the temple of Bhavishva Badri is at Subain;
about 17 kms from Joshimath to the east, towards
Lata.It is beyond Tapovan,where sulphurous hot
springs situated, up the Dhauli Ganga river and
involves a trek of about 5 km. From the motor
road.
